Pregnant driver shaken as cop car and 4WD crash in the CBD
A PREGNANT woman and two police officers have been treated in hospital following a crash involving a marked police car.
The incident occurred when the departmental vehicle, with activated lights and sirens, and a Nissan Xtrail four-wheel-drive collided at the intersection of East and Brisbane Sts in the Ipswich CBD about 8.50am Saturday.
A police spokesman said officers were responding to a domestic violence call-out when the crash happened.
Queensland Fire and Emergency Services officers and Queensland Ambulance Service paramedics attended the scene.
The 31-year-old pregnant female driver of the four-wheel-drive was transported to Ipswich Hospital for assessment and observation.
She was the sole occupant of one vehicle.
The two police officers on duty were also transported to the Ipswich Hospital. The female driver suffered bruising to her wrist while the male passenger escaped injury. Police said investigations were continuing into the cause of the crash.
