Police wrestle syringe-wielding man to ground at Caboolture

POLICE have charged a man and a woman with a string of offences after an incident in Caboolture yesterday afternoon.

At around 5.10pm police attended a Domnick Street address to execute a warrant.

Police will allege that upon entry they observed a man in possession of drugs and holding a used syringe, before he threatened police with the syringe.

Police wrestled with the man before he was arrested. The woman also allegedly became aggressive and attacked the police officers. She was also detained.

Police found a number of items within the house, including a loaded firearm, drugs and utensils.

A 33-year-old Caboolture man has been charged with serious assault police, unlawful possession of weapons, possess a firearm, two counts of possession of dangerous drugs, two counts of possess property suspected of being acquired for the purpose of committing a crime, possession of utensils or pipes, fail to take reasonable care of a syringe and possession of explosives or ammunition. He is due to appear in the Caboolture Magistrates Court today.

A 26-year-old woman has been charged with possess dangerous drugs, possess utensils or pipes, possession of property suspected of having been used for a drug offence, and assault or obstruct police. She is due to appear in the Caboolture Magistrates Court on February 23.
