Police vehicle and truck collide at Apple Tree Creek

THE Forensic Crash Unit is investigating  a serious traffic crash at Apple Tree Creek that involved a police vehicle and a truck late Friday.

Police have said the collision occurred on the Bruce Highway around 8.30pm and the two officers in the police vehicle and the driver of the truck were injured.

"All three have been taken to the Bundaberg Base Hospital with what are believed to be non-life threatening injuries," Police said in a statement.

"The Bruce Highway is currently closed at the scene with diversions in place.

"Northbound traffic is asked to take the Goodwood Rd exit to Bundaberg and rejoin the highway at Gin Gin.

"Traffic controllers are in place for southbound light vehicles, heavy vehicles are asked to wait at Gin Gin."
