QUEENSLAND Police have spoken to One Nation Senator Pauline Hanson's chief-of-staff James Ashby.

It follows Labor Senator Murray Watt making a complaint to QPS on May 22 about potential breaches of the Queensland Electoral Act and Mr Ashby making complaints on May 24 about breaches of privacy.

Mr Ashby confirmed he spoke to QPS on the phone and said he was always happy to co-operate with police.

A series of recordings have been leaked in the past two weeks, including one in which Mr Ashby is heard to suggest a plan to make money from the state election.

Mr Ashby has said this was a poor choice of words, the plan was never enacted and there was no wrong doing.
