Bundy raids net drug haul

BREAKING: ABOUT 15 homes in the Bundaberg area were searched this morning as a part of a state-wide drug operation.

State drug investigation group Detective Superintendent Steve Holahan said a significant amount of amphetamines, cannabis, ecstasy and steroids were found as a result of the police raids.

Det Supt Holahan said about 22 properties across the state were searched, including homes on the Gold and Sunshine Coasts and in the Emerald and Rockhampton areas.

“It’s certainly a significant bust and we are talking about a significant amount of drugs,” he said.

Det Supt Holahan said the drug network had been predominantly based in Bundaberg.

A number of people are helping police with their investigations.

The raids were a result of information received from members of the Bundaberg community.

The information sparked Operation Ice Landsman which has been ongoing for about nine months.

The operation is continuing.
