Police investigate Childers Rd crash

THE occupants of a Nissan Navara dual cab, including young children, were lucky to escape without serious injuries after the vehicle they were travelling in rolled several times yesterday.

Bundaberg Police Sergeant Graham Bubb said initial investigations suggested the driver of the car lost control while attempting to over take a Holden hatch back travelling along Childers Rd near South Bingera at about 2pm.

"The car rolled a number of times causing significant damage to the vehicle," he said.

"There were injuries but they were not life threatening.

"The road was closed for a short amount of time while the Forensic Crash Unit examined the scene."

Sgt Bubb said given the extensive damage to the car, it was fortunate no one was more seriously injured and the incident highlighted the need for drivers to always be vigilant on the roads.

The second car also sustained minor damage.

Investigations are continuing.

Anyone who may have witnessed the crash is urged to call the Bundaberg Police Station on 4153 9111 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
