Police investigate assault at Hinkler Central

POLICE are investigating reports two men were assaulted at Hinkler Central this morning.

Security guards went to the assistance of a male shop assistant and a 71-year-old man just before 10am Monday after a disgruntled customer allegedly assaulted the men.

It's believed the incident happened in a telecommunications store and a phone was also damaged.

A Queensland Ambulance Service spokesman said the 71-year-old was treated by paramedics before being taken to Bundaberg Hospital with minor injuries.

Bundaberg police are investigating the incident.
