WANTED: Police hunting pair after car chase

UPDATE: POLICE are hunting two accused thieves following a car chase on the Fraser Coast on Friday morning.

They are Mark Alan Murdoch, 32 and Tabitha Joyce Pershouse, last seen in a stolen Nissan Navara ute with the registration 014WSQ.

The car was pursued by police in Maryborough early Friday before heading north on the Bruce Hwy.

The Chronicle understands both the accused live at Bundaberg and are wanted for questioning over number of car and theft offences committed throughout the Wide Bay.

This includes the theft of a car at Bundaberg which was involved in a crash at Hervey Bay last Friday.

The pair allegedly fled the scene.

A Queensland Police Service spokesman said the car and driver were spotted by police about 7.45am just off the Bruce Highway north of Maryborough.

"The car took off as police approached," the spokesman said.

"The man was also sighted earlier this morning in Childers where it is alleged he committed a fuel drive off from a service station."

Police have released images of the people in question.

A CCTV image of a male wearing a wig and bandana, which police say depicts Mark Murdoch in disguise, has also been released.

Anyone who sees these people or knows of there whereabouts is urged to call 000.
