Police arrest men with ice, weapons and cash in Mary St

POLICE have charged two men with drug offences following an incident in Gympie early this morning.

Around 4am, a police patrol intercepted a vehicle in Mary St.

Police searched the vehicle and it will be alleged that a quantity of methylamphetamine (ice) was found along with cash and weapons.

A 35-year-old and a 25-year-old both from Mackay were arrested and charged with one count each of possessing dangerous drugs, possessing property suspected of having been used in the connection with the commission of a drug offence, possessing utensils or pipes and unlawful possession of weapons.

Both are due to appear in the Gympie Magistrates Court tomorrow.
