Police appeal after taser lost on the job

POLICE fear that a Taser mistakenly left behind at a crime scene may have been stolen.

An officer was leaving the scene of an incident in Mickaga Ct, Woodridge, about 3pm Monday, when he placed a container with a Taser inside on the top of his vehicle.

The officer forgot the container was still on top of the vehicle when he drove away.

Realising his mistake, the officer returned to the scene - only to discover the container on nearby Nyanza St with the X26 Taser and its cartridges removed.

Officers conducted an extensive search of the area but failed to locate the items.

Police are urging anyone is possession of the device to contact police immediately or anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
