Poets' society set to meet
THE first club meeting for the Bundaberg Poets’ Society will be held on February 13 in the Rum City Silver Band Hall in Targo Street.The afternoon will start at 1.30pm with a short meeting followed by poetry recitals with a break for afternoon tea and a chat and concluding with more poetry.
These afternoons are open to any persons interested in reading, writing or just listening to poetry and are enjoyable and lots of fun.
On the weekend of July 9-11 the club is hosting the National Australian Bush Poetry Championships at Brothers Sports Club in the Shamrock Room.
If you have never experienced bush poetry performances then this weekend is not to be missed as there will be two-and-a-half days of performance competitions with concerts on both the Friday and Saturday evenings.
