Picnic will coincide with Father's Day
FORGET the usual socks and jocks this Father's Day - this year you can treat dad to samples of the very best food, produce and products made right here in the Bundaberg region at the Farm Flavours Picnic.
Bundaberg Regional Council Community Services portfolio spokeswoman Judy Peters said the Bundy Flavours event, which would raise money for the AEIOU Foundation, would be held on Sunday, September 7 at Macadamia Australia.
"Set amongst the macadamia groves, you can share a picnic basket for two on your own personal blanket and enjoy some local entertainment as you feast on the local produce," Cr Peters said.
"It's hard to imagine a better way to celebrate what makes our region so special."
Cr Peters said she was pleased to announce Bundaberg Brewed Drinks were the major sponsors of the event.
"As one of our most iconic Bundaberg businesses, there are not many that would be better suited to partner with us in an event such as this.
"Bundaberg Brewed Drinks is an internationally recognised brand which showcases the quality of product our region is capable of."
Bundaberg Brewed Drinks CEO John McLean said the Bundaberg Region was so fortunate to have such an incredible array of local produce to offer.
"Bundaberg Brewed Drinks is delighted to sponsor the Farm Flavours Picnic, as an event that truly celebrates the first class offerings from our region," Mr McLean said.
A shared hamper for two costs $70 for the Farm Flavours Picnic, to be held from 11am to 2pm on Sunday, September 7.
Bookings are essential for the Farm Flavours Picnic and can be made at the Moncrieff Entertainment Centre or by calling 4130 4100.
