Photographers set to snap up Bundaberg

BUNDABERG'S budding photographers will have the chance to rub shoulders with five Queensland photographers at #instameetbundaberg, starting at Buss Park on Saturday.

Anyone who loves using instagram to promote this region, whether it be taking photographs of food, beaches, attractions, or just everyday life, is invited to join up and meet fellow photographers and Bundaberg's social media savvy.

In partnership with Tourism and Events Queensland, Bundaberg North Burnett Tourism has captured the attention of a group of Digital Influencers, with over 300,000 followers combined across social media channels such as Instagram, Twitter and Facebook.

Bundaberg North Burnett Tourism marketing manager Katherine Mergard said the meet up would be a great way for Instagrammers in the community to learn from five great photographers.

"We have a very active instagram community around the Bundaberg North Burnett and this is an opportunity to get together with a group of brilliant photographers and discuss filters, tips and tricks, as well as collectively promoting our region," she said.

The Digital Influencer group will be headed by Lauren Bath (@laurenepbath), a chef turned photographer turned Digital Influencer thanks to her success on the photo sharing application Instagram.

Since starting on Instagram just over two years ago Ms Bath has reawakened a long dormant interest in photography to grow one of the biggest Instagram profiles in Australia.

Taking the plunge to turn her success into a career has seenMs Bath travel all over Australia and now the world with recent jobs in Canada and Fiji.

"As a full time Instagrammer I've done my fair share of Instameets from my very first local one in Brisbane to the world's longest one in Tasmania and I never ever get sick of them," she said.

"Instagram is an amazing platform that connects people from all over the world and Instagrammers are just the most fun group of people."

To take part in the #instameet and to promote it to your followers, follow @visitbundaberg and hashtag #instameetbundaberg then be at Buss Park, Bourbong St at 3pm on Saturday.
