Phone survey on local issues not commissioned by council
GLADSTONE Regional Council has confirmed that it has not commissioned a phone survey operating within the region.
Social media sites have drawn much discussion regarding the survey that seeks residents' opinions on Council and on local issues, with many believing that council is responsible for the survey.
Council conducted its biennial customer satisfaction survey more than a month ago, but does not have any surveys currently under way.
Given that local government elections are going to be held in March, it is possible that surveys by external parties are being conducted, but the survey is not council's.
Council encourages people to scrutinise callers about the authenticity and purpose of surveys before making a decision whether to respond or not.
