Peter Foster released on bail

SELF-STYLED "international man of mischief" and confessed Mummy's boy, Peter Foster will be home for Christmas after raising the sureties needed to secure his bail.

Mr Foster, 49, was released from the Brisbane Correctional Centre at Wacol this afternoon.

The convicted con artist has been behind bars since the middle of last month, charged with contempt of court after the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission alleged he had broken a 2005 Federal Court order banning him from involvement in the weight loss industry.

The ACCC has alleged Mr Foster was involved in the sale and marketing of the diet spray SensaSlim.

Mr Foster had applied for bail last week, however he was to remain in custody until he could raise $125,000 in sureties, which he was able to do today.
