Parking and pet care catered for at Childers Festival
A LITTLE planning ahead of this year's Childers Festival could see you nabbing a prime parking spot or better yet, not having to drive at all.
Bundaberg Regional Council community services spokeswoman Judy Peters said with 40,000 people descending on Childers on Festival Day, knowing where the available parking options were located before heading to Childers could make your trip much easier.
"There is free parking at the Childers Showground with parking for disabled parking permit holders available on the corner of Crescent and Lord Streets," Cr Peters said.
"For a donation to the schools there is also parking available at both Isis State High and St Joseph Schools."
"For those travelling from Bundaberg and Bargara on Sunday, July 26, Council also offers a shuttlebus service to the festival."
Cr Peters said festival-goers should also be aware that, apart from registered guide dogs, this was a "no-dog" event.
"Wide Bay Animal Rescue will be onsite at the Childers Showground on Sunday, July 26 offering a dog-minding service so your four-legged friend can be cared for whilst you attend the Childers Festival making it an enjoyable day for all," she said.
"This service will be available between 9.00am to 3.30pm at a cost of $10 per dog and offers your dog a shaded area, water, exercise and of course, companionship, with funds raised going to Wide Bay Animal Rescue."
