Pageant of Lights is almost here

THE festive season will begin with blaze of lights and colour in Bundaberg tomorrow night at the annual Pageant of Lights.

Bourbong St will be transformed into a Christmas wonderland with entertainment, a street parade and market stalls.

Mayor Mal Forman said throwing the switch at Buss Park to light up the main street with Christmas lights was a symbolic gesture to officially begin the festive season in Bundy.

"I would hope our regional centres at Childers and Gin Gin and all stops between share in this seasonal event that attracts such strong family participation," Cr Forman said.

"I'm certain we will have a visit from Santa and Mrs Claus and few of Santa's helpers during the event."

The entertainment will begin at 6pm in Buss Park and the CBD pavilion and the lights will be turned on at 7pm to signal the start of the street parade.
