The paedophile whose victims loved him

HE WAS a father figure, a mentor, someone who made the troubled boys in his care feel special.

They were bullied, homesick and in need of someone to talk to, not the relentless sexual abuse notorious paedophile Kevin Lynch visited upon them.

Behind locked doors at Queensland's most prestigious school, he would would teach them to "relax", hypnotise them and gain their trust before encouraging them to masturbate, touch their genitals and worse.

One student told the child abuse royal commission Lynch stuck acupuncture needles in his testicles, another said he was penetrated until he bled.

But despite this, many of Lynch's victims loved him.
