OUR SAY: Volunteers boosting our region

IT LOOKS like Bargara will be the place to be tonight for the MRH Lawyers Winter Fireworks Spectacular.

The event kicks off at 3pm with a beach barbecue, market stalls and games for the kids on the beach.

A black tie gala dinner will run inside the club with fireworks at 7pm.

To me it seems like it should be a lot of fun for young and old and another way the Bundaberg community gets together to fundraise for good causes.

Since I have been in Bundaberg I have been to many community events, they are on nearly every weekend.

Each time I'm blown away by the organisation and the spirit of people helping out volunteering their time.

The other big thing on this weekend is the state hockey championships.

It's a huge event with plenty of people working hard behind the scenes to make it happen.

Without them Bundaberg wouldn't get the big boost to the economy from the event.

Bundaberg has everything needed for sports tourism, the more we have the better.

So congratulations to all those volunteering their time around the region this weekend.
