OUR SAY: Sexist? Keep it to yourself

TODAY, for just the second time, a woman will take control of the British government.

A woman is already in charge of Europe's biggest economy, Germany, and a woman is also poised to take the US presidency in just a couple of months.

What a time for young girls to be growing up in. How lucky we all are that they - and young boys - are to have female role models in some of the highest political offices in the world.

What a shame then we still have people like Melbourne radio host Steve Price who just don't get it.

Price's comments on Q&A this week aren't worth repeating.

But they and the reaction to them show that many people still have a long way to come before they will see and treat men and women as equals.

For the sake of boys and girls growing up today, Price and his supporters really should keep their antique views to themselves.
