OUR SAY: Jobs plan is a boost for Bundy

WELL finally we might see some real action in providing jobs for the Bundaberg region.

Today Member for Hinkler Keith Pitt and candidate for Wide Bay Llew O'Brien will announce a $20 million jobs package for the Wide Bay-Burnett area.

Mr Pitt said a re-elected Coalition Government would invest $20 million in the Wide Bay-Burnett region to diversify the local economy, create local jobs and grow skills in the local workforce.

The move is aimed at bringing forward local business investment and expansion, creating local jobs in the Hinkler electorate.

"This new jobs package will give local businesses the confidence to invest and grow," Mr Pitt said.

The good news is the package will attract matching funding from participating businesses, resulting in a $40 million boost for the region.

This to me is the best news of the election so far. Bundaberg and the Wide Bay needs jobs. Finally we have some sort of plan to bring them to the area.

Lets see if Labor can match or better this move.

The desperate lack of jobs in Bundy is the biggest election issue for the people.
