OUR SAY: Bullying is not on in any place

ONE of the most pressing and yet preventable issues seen in both schools and workplaces is bullying.

Bullying is an unnecessary aspect of society, that has had numerous campaigns focusing on abolishing it within the workplace.

Bundaberg North State High School's Better Buddies committee is a fantastic initiative that aims to create a friendly learning environment in which students can thrive in while feeling respected.

This kind of program not only displays youth conciousness in addressing the issue of bullying, but also demonstrates the success that can be achieved given the right approach.

While not every workplace is going to have a t-shirt as a means of unifying the office, the implementation of anti-bullying awareness and upholding zero tolerance to bullying is a step in the right direction for any business to stop bullying before it starts.

Office team building activities or work functions are an alternative method to promote anti-bullying.

If you are being bullied in the workplace and are seeking advice, you can call the Workplace Bullying Hotline on 1800 177 717
