The Prime Ministership of Australia has become something along the lines of a poisoned chalice over the last ten years. JWH lost his seat, KRudd lost his way, Julia never really got a start being forced immediately into minority government and now we have One Term Tony. Aaarrgh!

Howard brought his demise upon himself. Workchoices was a disgusting ideologically driven attempt to cut the wages, conditions and job security of the masses for the benefit of a rich few. Programs such as Workchoices tipped the balance so far in the favour of big business to the detriment of society in general.

KRudd started well, but lost all direction after the Copenhagen debacle. Had that result gone the other way, I've no doubt a double dissolution on the ETS would have wiped the LNP for a decade. Instead, Copenhagen showed the grip big business has on World Governments. Vote 1, big polluters.

Julia had no hope after the 2010 election result. She did as well as anybody could hope out of a hung parliament and had a positive plan for Australia despite the constant barrage of negativity and empty slogans from the LNP.

Of course we all know how empty those slogans were now. TA is a disaster of a PM worse than anything anybody could have imagined. Beholden to his big business masters, he lurches from one disaster to the next. He has brought forward the most heartless one sided budget that is so disgusting, you couldn't believe a supposedly civilised government would do that to its community.

Cuts for pensioners, unemployed, sick, disaster victims, low paid superannuation, education and disability as opposed to boosts for high paid superannuation, ridiculous payments to rich executive mothers, a slush fund for 'medical grants' and payments to big polluters at the expense of budget necessities. Really? They're kidding right? Nope.

The Carbon Tax issue is the only thing OTT is clinging to, but it was going anyway by transitioning to an ETS with a much lower price set by markets. We have already seen that it is not the demon that the LNP proclaimed it to be. It achieved its aim by reducing the amount of pollution emitted while encouraging the development of cleaner energy. The economy had accepted it and has grown with it. The Carbon Tax has its obvious merit but was poorly sold in the first place. Why didn't they call it what it is, a Pollution Tax. Whether you believe in Climate Change or not, there is no doubt the World could do with less pollution and I believe this is the whole point of the push to cleaner energy.

Australia has been sold an absolute dud in Tony Abbott. As bad as anyone might think JWH, KRudd and Julia were, One Term Tony is a hundred times worse than the worst of the previous three put together. Australia deserves more from our Prime Minister. We are a great Country, a rich Country and a generous Country, but we are being severely let down by a heartless government.
