Optus mobiles out of action

THE Optus mobile service collapsed in the Bundaberg area, leaving the region’s Optus mobile users without service for almost two hours yesterday.

“We did experience a software issue at Rochedale in Brisbane and it did affect services in the Bundaberg area,” a spokesperson for Optus said.

The spokesperson said the problem occurred at about 3pm and services were back up by 4.45pm.

“We apologise for the inconvenience caused to our customers,” the spokesperson said.

Childers and Gin Gin was also affected by the outage, as were customers in Mundubbera, Hervey Bay, Dalby, Atherton and one site in Ipswich.

Optus internet services were not affected by the outage.
