OPINION: Concerns for fishermen

AS A long time local in Bundaberg, I am very concerned about the ban being put on our fishermen.

This will cause a spiral effect for the people and businesses in our town.

We are already suffering from unemployment. I work at the tourist and information board as a volunteer, and on a daily basis tourists from all over the world will ask us where they can dine and have fresh local seafood and they also can purchase it to take with them.

Losing businesses like this would have huge implications because everybody likes fresh local seafood caught in our own waters.

A lot of hard work goes into it from local people.

Please don't let this happen.
