ON TOP OF THE WORLD: Allahna Carman finishes top five overseas
BODYBUILDING: Bundaberg's Allahna Carman is proud of her achievements after representing her country for the first time.
Last month the bodybuilder competed in the Fitness America Weekend in Las Vegas, completing a goal two years in the making.
She finished in the top five and was the top finisher from outside of the United States.
Carman said her preparation was perfect.
"I was really confident coming in and really happy with how my body came in," she said.
"A week out I was like 'I just need to maintain what I'm doing.'"
A pumped Carman said the experience was the best thing out of the event.
"It was a huge crowd compared to any other shows I've done," she said.
"There was a lot of people backstage and really strong competition."
"I loved it, I loved the whole experience."
Carman also liked being part of a team despite sually competing as an individual.
She was joined by Australian team-mates for the trip.
"Being in a team was so much fun," she said.
"I enjoyed it a lot more and it was such an honour to stand out there and represent my country."
And now Carman wants to do it again.
Early next year she will prepare for a professional league event in June.
First place in it would earn Carman a free flight and money to compete in the US again.
Carman said she wouldn't have got overseas without support from the people Bundaberg.
"I ended up getting lots of support from friends, the community and the gym," she said.
"I was surprised and blown away."
Carman will now take a break for Christmas before preparing for the her next event in the new year.
