40 QRI members enjoyed the beautiful weather last Sunday, playing for trophies kindly donated by Eric Clem and Coral Connolly. Jim Carter, Elsa Penney and Ken Mitchell were the overall winners for the morning. Mike Jeffs and Alan Nielson were the Runners-Up with Andrea Cook, Chris Day and Fred Cook being the Sportsmen.

Many thanks to Vickie and Glenyss for working behind the bar. Our next QRI morning is this coming Sunday, July 2. We are combining with Past Presidents for this day. We will be playing Mixed Triples. Childers

A great morning greeted the 16 players who turned up for a Stroke and Putt event over the Back Nine.

The winner after a countback was Michael Stanton on 30 as he managed to lose 3.5 off his handicap. Second also on 30 was Ray Burrows and his loss was 3.0 and third Kaz Jeffery on 33 and losing 0.9. Michael also took out the Least Putts with 13.

Chris Fitzsimons won the B Grade Approach on the 10th, Bob Champney the Centre Drive on the 12th, Ross Nicols the Combined Nearest the Pin on the 13th and Paul McCarragher won the Golden Circle for this quarter with a shot of 2.4m from the hole.

Paul also won the Men's Approach on the 15th but managed to stuff it up by three putting the hole. Last but not least Kaz took out the Combined Longest Drive on the 18th.

Next week will be our Monthly Mug Day which is a Stroke and Putt game over 18 holes with an 8am start and a lunch put on after the game.

Isis Club Foursomes Championships

The Men's and Women's Foursomes Championships were played on the weekend in ideal conditions.

Chris Crouch combined with Phil Luckett to win the title with 123 gross, from Clinton Dowling and Ken Albion on 126. The nett winners were Len Stallard and Michael Hickey on 102 from Peter Steel and Peter Hrelja on 109.

Clinton and Ken (3.98m) won the pinshot on 1 & 10; Kev Hackney and Niel Rieck (2,.98m) won the pinshot on 4 & 13.

Kerry Schnack and new member, Leanne Windeknecht, with 143 gross won the women's title from Joy Cartner and Cecily Fay on 155. The nett winners were Fiona Dowling and Lisa Cooney on 114 from Helen Ricciardi and Meryn Henke on 116.

The approach winners were Joy Cartner and Cecily Fay on 4 & 13 and Helen Ricciardi and Merryn Henke on 6 & 15.

Trophies were sponsored by Helen and Cecily.

On Thursday a larger than usual field competed in a ladies' stroke event. Our newest member, Leanne Windeknecht, won with 69 nett from Chris Simpson on 70, with Merryn Henke (0.33m) winning the approach.

Next Thursday members play a single stableford competition.

Isis Vets

On Tuesday members competed in the VIP single stroke competition sponsored by the Woodgate Gang, in conjunction with the second round of the Jan Mungomery salver competition.

In A Division, Ben Van Der Valk with 64 nett won from Phil Luckett on 68 and Larry Pershouse on 70. In B Division, Ted Buckland with 65 nett won from Phil Pearce on 68 and Harry Zawacki on 70.

Chris Simpson won the Ladies' Division with 72 nett from Vicki McAulay and Val Plath both on 74.

The approach shot winners were: Vicki McAulay (in the hole) for the Ladies on 6 & 15; Phil Luckett (0.47m) and Ray Burrowes (0.20m) for the Men on 1 & 10; Larry Pershouse (0.27m) and Lisa Coney (0.84m) for the Combined on 4 & 13.
