Olga to deliver a wet weekend
ANYONE planning on mowing the lawn tomorrow should think again.
Tropical Cyclone Olga is predicted to reach down and drag rain clouds – and some good rain – across the district.
Weather forecasting company Weatherzone meteorologist Josh Fisher said the remnants of Olga, which is expected to become a fully fledged cyclone by early today, would be pulling moisture on to the coast as far south as Bundaberg.
“Bundaberg is expected to pick up as much as 20mm to 30mm of rain on Sunday,” he said.
Mr Fisher said Monday was expected to be wet too, with a forecast of 10 to 15mm of rain.
So far this month, the region has had 69mm of rain, well down on the average 171mm.
Mr Fisher said all the rain the district received was at the beginning of January.
