Norths start new year with T20 title win
NORTHS is one trophy away from perfection in division one after winning the T20 title.
They defeated Brothers by four wickets on Friday night to claim their second title of the year after winning the NewsMail Cup last month.
Bowling first, they restricted Brothers to 81 with three wickets to Jarrod Paul and Jaden Bond.
In reply they reached the target with four overs to spare despite losing four quick wickets early.
Norths player Shaun Rose said it was good for the side to win their first T20 title in division one.
"Our bowlers bowled well and Kye Leggett held the batting up well in the middle,” he said.
"We'll be kicking onwards and aiming to win the division one title now.”
Brothers captain Simon Gills said the side, although disappointed to lose, would regroup.
"The positive is we made them work hard for the win after our poor batting display,” he said.
"We'll live and learn from the loss and focus on winning the final trophy on offer this season.”
