Norths prepare for premiers
CRICKET: After an impressive start in their opening Bundaberg Division 1 cricket match, Norths have been boosted by the return of Kye Leggett for this week's match against The Waves.
The all-rounder returns after missing last week's opening round, 125-run win over Brothers.
After recording the second most runs for the side last year, with the best average for the team, he will be a welcome addition to their batting stocks ahead of the clash.
With 14 wickets as well Leggett could also be a help to Damian O'Neall in the bowling attack.
Talking about the clash captain Todd Sommerfeld said the team can't rest on what happened last week and needed to keep improving.
He said The Waves would bounce back so the team needs to be ready.
Meanwhile the defending premiers believe they will get better after losing to Past Highs by 70 runs.
Captain Mitch Waters said he wants the team to put up a bit more of a fight this week.
"Norths will be tough and showed that last week against Brothers,” he said.
"Last week was a good hit out be we know we need to improve in a lot of areas including our fielding.”
Norths will take on The Waves at 12.30pm today at Kendalls Flat 3.
In the other match of the round Brothers will be looking for their first win of the season over Past Highs.
With Past Highs full of confidence after beating the defending premiers, they will be hoping to make it two wins in a row..
They will also play at 12.30pm today at Kendalls Flat 7.
This week will be the final week of matches at Kendalls Flat with Salter Oval available next week.
