Norths claim back-to-back Division 2 titles
CRICKET: This year really was the year of dominance for the Norths cricket team.
After claiming their first Division 1 title in 20 years their Division 2 side joined them on Sunday at the top.
Claiming back-to-back titles they defeated Isis by 95 runs.
It is the first time one Bundaberg side has held the top two trophies since The Waves in 2013/14.
Batting first the win was set up by a 121 run stand from Damian Turner and Andrew McKay as the side made 266 from 50 overs.
Turner making an unbeaten 76 as he combined in the final six overs with brother Dan Salta for a 48 run stand.
In a man of the match display Turner then took two wickets with the ball as Isis made 171 in reply.
Despite a half century from Adrian Goddard the Isis side couldn't build partnerships as they lost too many early wickets.
In the other match in Division 3 the Brothers Dads and Lads upset Norths to prevent a clean sweep in all divisions.
Unbeaten in the season, with 18 wins, Norths couldn't claim the win that mattered as Brothers won by 148 runs.
Led by Sam Pearson (99) and Harry Neubecker (41) the Dads and Lads side made 7 for 260 after struggling early at 5 for 101.
In reply Norths were never in the run chase as they were bowled out for 111 in the 27th over.
Damien O'Neall making 44 for the minor premiers.
All side will now rest over winter before the new season starts in September.
