Secret takeover talk rubbished

GLADSTONE Regional Council has assured Agnes Water and Seventeen Seventy residents there is no “secret plan” or “Gladstone takeover” of parks maintenance services.

The council's assurances follow the circulation of flyers in Agnes Water by an anonymous source claiming the council was taking away the parks and gardens service.

Council CEO Graeme Kanofski said steps were being taken to ensure Agnes Water received comparable parks maintenance services to residents of other urban areas in the region.
