NewsMail Cup to start in two weeks

FOOTBALL: One of the oldest competitions in the region is on the move to another date.

The NewsMail Cup will start on February 24, with the first few rounds held until March 10.

The same applies to the Sea FM Cup and the women's cup, which will be contested by all sides in division one and two.

There will be no division three cup this year.

"The club delegates decided to this so we won't have any clashes,” Football Bundaberg president Femia Eizema said.

"We have an extra week to make sure all games are played if we get wash outs.”

Team would play in knock-out matches until the finalists are decided in each cup.

The finals for each cup will be held on May 7 with the draws for each cup to be released soon.
