New year kicks off with police making 13 arrests

EMERGENCY services were kept busy on New Year's Eve, with police officers making 13 arrests during one of their busiest nights of the year.

Sergeant Mick Ward said, in general, most partygoers were well behaved.

The arrests included:

  • 23-YEAR-OLD man arrested on Woongarra St on an outstanding warrant for failing to appear in court.
  • 18-YEAR-OLD man arrested on Bourbong St for failing to move on.
  • 20-YEAR-OLD woman arrested for allegedly possessing marijuana on George St.
  • 19-YEAR-OLD woman arrested for public nuisance on Woondooma St.
  • 27-YEAR-OLD man arrested on Tantitha St for public nuisance.
  • A 39-YEAR-OLD woman, 20-year-old man, 21-year-old man and 25-year-old man arrested in Targo St for public nuisance and obstructing police.
  • 45-YEAR-OLD man arrested after failing to leave the Moore Park Beach Tavern.
  • 18-YEAR-OLD man arrested on Quay St for obstructing police.
  • 22-YEAR-OLD woman charged with unlicensed driving on Central Ave.
  • 35-YEAR-OLD man arrested and charged after failing to appear.
