24-hour gym opens to Bundy locals

TIME is no longer an excuse not to go the gym with Jett's Fitness opening its doors to Bundaberg residents from Saturday.

The 24-hour, no contracts gym already has 300 members and franchisee Steele Lannon believed the membership numbers were far from their peak.

“It's not just a gym for any particular type of person,” he said.

“People from all walks of life have signed up.”

Card access to the gym will be available 24 hours and staff will be available twice a day in the morning and evening for three and four hour blocks.

“There are no lock-in contracts,” Mr Lannon said.

“If people want to stop coming they can, they won't be locked in.”

Two personal trainers will work for the gym, giving members one free session which they can choose to either continue, or go ahead with their own programs.

“The trainers are fully qualified with all the certificates and they are equipped to give nutritional advice,” Mr Lannon said.

Membership numbers are also capped to ensure the gym does not get overcrowded, and members can use their membership at any Jett's gym in the country when travelling.

Manager and personal trainer Keegan Lankowski said the only downside to the gym was that it eliminated excuses.

“It's a great bundle because it's open 24 hours, no contracts, low fees and no overcrowding,” he said.

Mr Lankowski had been working as a personal trainer in Bundaberg for about three years and said the gym suited the community.

“We have had a lot of shift workers like police and firies who have said they will come here to work out,” he said.

“It's a gym that suits your hours rather than you having to work your busy life around the gym's opening hours.”

The gym is located at Westside Plaza on Heidke Street.
