New clothing store the right fit for Damon
A 19-YEAR-old entrepreneur has transformed a passion for clothing into the opening of a new fashion store in the heart of the Bundaberg CBD.
Damon Woodley said he was working at Flip Out, the trampoline adventure centre, before the opportunity to co-own House of Zenn presented itself.
“I was at Flip Out and it was really quiet one day and the boss, Maurice Salib said to me, ‘hey what would you do if we opened a clothing shop?’,” he said.
“That has been a dream of mine as I am very passionate about clothing. I told him I would drop anything and everything to go straight towards that dream to make it happen.”
“Within a month, House of Zenn was under way.”
Mr Woodley, who is now part-owner of the clothing store, said the opening had taught him a great deal about what it took to operate a business.
“Being so young, the financial side of things have been a bit of a challenge to get my head around but I have had such great support from Maurice,” he said.
The young store owner said House of Zenn incorporated big name brands as well as his own newly established label for men and women aged 16 to 30.
“At the moment we sell AS Colour, Stussy, Monsta Surf and our own House of Zenn clothing label,” he said.
“We want to use this space primarily to push forward our own brand, which focuses on clothing that is trending now.”
“We have tall tees, jeans, hoodies and more all available at really great prices for both men and women.”
Mr Woodley said his store’s point of difference was affordability and understanding fashion trends.
“We are cool and we know what people need and want and how much they want it for,” he said.
“Our aim is to stand out in front of every other clothing brand and say, hey we are the right brand for you.”
House of Zenn is open seven days a week and is situated at 106 Bourbong St.
