More support for research

BEDS R Us owners Darren and Melinda Scheuer have been busy this month doing their bit to change the face of men’s health, by selling limited-edition Movember mattresses.

Mrs Scheuer said $50 from every mattress sold went to men’s health research through the Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia and national depression initiative Beyond Blue.

“Darren and I really want to jump on board this, as Dad has suffered from prostate cancer,” Mrs Scheuer said.

“Last year we supported breast cancer (fundraising), but this year, since it’s a bit closer to home, we wanted to support this.”

The couple said they were keen to support the cause and see the local community get involved with such an important issue.

Their Johanna Boulevard store has already sold a number of the exclusive, black-and-white patterned mattresses, and will only sell them until the end of November unless they sell out first.

For those who do not want a mattress but would still like to support the cause, donations can also be made at the store.
