Flight attendant falls out of plane door

A FLIGHT attendant has become injured after she fell from a stationary Boeing 737 at an airport in central China.

The incident happened while the Xiamen Air was being restocked at Zhengzhou airport in Henan province, the South China Morning Post reported.

The flight attendant suffered broken bones.

It appears she was preparing food on the plane when she lost her footing and fell through the open cabin door.

CCTV footage of the incident went viral after it was uploaded to Chinese social media platform Weibo. The video shows a food cart tumbling out of the door, closely followed by the flight attendant.

In a statement, the airline, Xiamen Air, said the flight attendant fell while the plane was making a brief stop in Zhengzhou on its journey from the Chinese cities of Fuzhou and Lanzhou.

The flight attendant suffered a broken bone in her chest and was taken in for surgery.

Doctors ruled out any permanent damage, the Post reported. The airline are investigating the incident but considers it an accident.

This is the second time in a month a flight attendant has fallen from a stationary plane in China.

On October 23, a cabin crew member with China Eastern Airlines suffered broken bones when she fell from a rear door she was trying to close before takeoff.
