Mogg tipping Cronk, Inglis to deliver Maroons Origin glory

RUGBY LEAGUE: Former Maroons flyer Adam Mogg reckons Queensland could snatch back the State of Origin Shield on the back of a rampant Greg Inglis.

The former Sunshine Coast coach and ex-Canberra, Parramatta and Catalans Dragons player, who could slot into five-eight or the outside backs, says a more commanding Cooper Cronk and Inglis picking the ball up in the backfield could be a recipe for a Maroons win.

"I think Cronk will be more direct and take a bit more control," Mogg said.

"But I think the real positive for GI and Queensland is that they've (NSW) got to kick to him.

"He'll have a lot more first touches than he did previously."

Tomorrow night's decider has been billed as potentially the biggest Origin game of the past decade, with a rampaging NSW forward pack set to meet a Maroons side with plenty to prove, and class throughout their backline.

"We need to be a lot stronger definitely," Mogg said.

"Thaiday (Sam Thaiday) and Scott (Matt Scott) need to lift; it's up to them to make sure Mal (Maroons coach Mal Meninga) doesn't look elsewhere."

Mogg said the added inspiration of sending out veteran centre Justin Hodges a winner would be a huge motivator for the Maroons, who would have to find a way to shut down New South Wales' Game Two standout Michael Jennings.

"Justin (Hodges) will want to come out and have a good game with it being his last," Mogg said.

"Not giving him (Jennings) space is the key.

"If you don't give him open space you don't see him and that's common knowledge throughout the NRL."

Mogg tipped a tight one at Suncorp Stadium tomorrow night, hoping the Maroons could prevail in a thriller.
