Model railway club members enjoy an open day

MORE than 100 people made tracks to the old showgrounds yesterday to check out the Bundaberg Model Railway Club's open day.

Club president Chris Pashley said between 100 and 150 people attended the open day which was aimed at expanding the club's membership.

"It was just to encourage new members and give people a chance to meet all the current members and see the layout in actions," Mr Pashley said.

"I think there were quite a few interested in joining up."

Mr Pashley said he was pleased with the turnout.

"It went really well," he said.

"It was a good day."

Anyone interested in joining the Bundaberg Model Railway Club is welcome to attend their meets which are held each week on Tuesday, Wednesday and Saturday.

"We certainly do welcome new people," Mr Pashely said.

"It's a fun hobby.

"There's such a broad range of things you can learn."
