MODERATE flood levels are expected at Eidsvold Bridge in the upper Burnett catchment on Friday.

Locally heavy falls up to approximately 110mm have been recorded over parts of the upper and lower Burnett catchments since 9am Thursday, following significant rainfall earlier in the week.

Showers are forecast for Friday.

UPPER BURNETT RIVER TO MUNDUBBERA:

Minor flood levels are rising in Three Moon Creek at Abercorn and at Yarrol on the upper Burnett River. Moderate flood levels are easing at Lands End in Eastern Creek following a peak close to the major flood level overnight.

Downstream, river levels are approaching the major flood level at Ceratodus on the upper Burnett River and are approaching the minor flood level at Eidsvold Bridge. River levels are currently steady at Mundubbera.

BURNETT RIVER BETWEEN MUNDUBBERA AND BUNDABERG:

River levels are rising between Gayndah and Walla Weir.

Predicted River Heights/Flows:

BURNETT RIVER at:

Eidsvold Bridge: River level rises to the moderate flood level (9.0 metres) are expected during Friday.

Mundubbera: River level rises close to the minor flood level (7.0 metres) are likely during Saturday.

Gayndah: Minor flood levels (5.0 metres) are possible during the early part of the weekend.

Walla: Rises to around the minor flood level (6.0 metres) are possible over the weekend.

Bundaberg: River levels will remain below the minor flood level (3.5 metres)

River level predictions will be refined once upstream peaks are observed.

EARLIER: The wet weather continues across the region, and a minor flood warning has been issued for the Burnett River at Eidsvold Bridge during Friday.

Up to 90mm of rainfall has been recorded in the the Upper Burnett River catchment area since 9am on Thursday.

Rainfall is generally easing across the catchment area.

UPPER BURNETT RIVER TO MUNDUBBERA:

River levels are rising in the creeks and rivers of the Upper Burnett River catchment.

Moderate flood levels are rising at Lands End in Eastern Creek where major flood levels are likely overnight.

Rises are occurring downstream in the Burnett River at Ceratodus where minor flood levels are expected overnight.

Rises are expected to extend further downstream to Eidsvold Bridge during Friday.
