Health Minister promises to take the lead on fitness

HEALTH Minister Sussan Ley has promised to do more workouts in an effort to get more Australian women physically active.

Ms Ley  launched a new Australian Sports Commission campaign on Tuesday - No Time for Never - coinciding with World Osteoporosis Day.

She said osteoporosis affected more women than men, but the campaign also aimed to get men and children more active to improve their health - and she would be doing her part.

She pledged to do "weight-bearing physical activity three times a week" and walk instead of drive whenever she could.

"We must start putting out health first and I'm here to support you," she said.
