Mel B and hubby blasted for "high upper-class life"

A LOS ANGELES judge has blasted Mel B and her estranged hubby for "living beyond their means" - noting that the former Spice Girl blows more than $11,500 a month on groceries and dining out and another $1,600 on monthly entertainment expenses, court documents show.

Judge Lawrence Riff said "Scary Spice" Mel B - whose real name is Melanie Brown - and ex Stephen Belafonte enjoyed a "high upper-class life" during their nearly 10-year marriage - but that their expenses were not "entirely credible or reasonable," the Daily Mail reported.

The former flames have been bickering in court papers about their respective finances as their bitter divorce battle wages on.

Belafonte sought temporary spousal support, which Mel B tried to shoot down, saying her ex's demands were exorbitant.

Mel B claimed her monthly expenses included $25,600 in "child care," $6,400 in "groceries and household supplies" for a family of four, $5,760 for "eating out," and $1,683 for "movies, shows, theme parks, etc."

Meanwhile, Belafonte said he spent $2,900 a month on "groceries and household supplies," $960 in mobile phone expenses, $2,500 in clothes and $3,800 on "entertainment, gifts and vacation."

But Riff said the pair should've kept their personal living expenses capped at $65,300 a month.

"This is at substantial variance with both parties' income and expense declarations, that is, both parties claim far more in monthly expenses," the judge wrote.

On Friday, the judge ordered Mel B to pay Belafonte $51,200 per month in spousal support and another $179,500 in legal fees in wake of her disturbing accusations of years of physical and emotional abuse.
