Matt Collins is the voice

MATT Collins is still celebrating after winning the Rostrum Voice of Youth Australian final on Saturday at Brisbane.

Matt, 17, was thrilled to win the award.

“It was really, really good,” he said.

“The whole thing has been a really great experience.”

He said his father Dean and his English teacher Mick Davies helped him achieve the Rostrum award.

“It's quite a prestigious award and to win it will open a lot of doors,” he said.

Matt will now write about Australia and the places he enjoys as an ambassador for Friends of Australia.

Kepnock State High School deputy principal Nick Howkins said Matt gave a wonderful performance.

“We're very proud of his achievement,” Mr Howkins said.
