Maths Mind - Problem Solving

Problem solving is often associated with mathematics and science but it is in fact needed in all fields and all areas of life.Solving problems is a life skill. When learning how to solve problems you need to know what to look for and learn the different steps it takes to tackle them.

Maths problems often require established procedures and knowing what and when to apply them. To identify procedures you have to be familiar with the problem situation and be able to collect the appropriate information, identify a strategy or strtaegies and use the strategy appropriately. Problem solving can be fun and challenging but requires practice. The more you practice, the better you get. Try solving the problems on the task cards.
