World's first Mobile McCafe

BUNDABERG region McDonald’s owners Craig and Mel Manley are taking the well-known brand to the next level with the world’s first Mobile McCafe.

The cafe-in-a-van will travel to McDonald’s-sponsored events and other large events to sell the chain’s coffee with a select range of food.

“We have already had a great reaction,” Mrs Manley said.

“People have crowded around the van asking for a coffee on the few occasions we have needed to take it out.”

The van will make its first operational appearance at tonight’s Bundaberg Carols by Candlelight.

Two staff members will work the portable cafe.

Mrs Manley is excited about the first run.

“We have already developed systems, but we will refine them over time,” she said.

The van will be available for events in Bundaberg, Hervey Bay and Gladstone.

The Mobile McCafe may soon be seen in more regions, with Mrs Manley already receiving inquiries from other McDonald’s franchisees.

“I have already had other McDonald’s owners wanting help to set up a cafe like this,” she said.

“It’s great. Craig has wanted to start this Mobile McCafe for years.”
