Man who evaded police in court

A MAN who evaded police in the car park of Across The Waves yesterday will appear in court this morning on four charges including evading and obstructing police, wilful damage and disqualified driving.

Bundaberg police Detective Senior Sergeant Joe Hildred said police tried to intercept the vehicle as it left the car park early evening yesterday, but the driver accelerated and a pursuit ensued.

"Police attempted to intercept the vehicle, but the suspect increased speed and the pursuit was terminated," he said.

Det Snr Sgt Hildred said police later attended a Wilmington St address, where the vehicle in question was parked in the driveway.

"Police were aware the suspect was wanted for questioning for a wilful damage offence allegedly committed on November 30," he said.

"The offender was subsequently arrested and taken to the Bundaberg police station, and his bail was refused."

The 35-year-old man will appear in court this morning.

More details to come soon.
