Man 'threw schoolgirl at bus'

POLICE have arrested a young man for allegedly trying to stab a schoolgirl with a syringe and throw her in front of a bus in Maroochydore this morning.

Officers have been patrolling the area since the alleged attack at a bus stop on Maroochydore Road around 9.15am.

The man, described as having a shaved head with a rat's tail and carrying a black bag, was seen at 9.28am near Primary School Court.

He was caught in a car park near Woolworth's at Sunshine Plaza shortly before 10am.
