Man in hospital after car "knocked power pole in half”
A MAN was taken to hospital in the early hours of this morning after crashing his car into a power pole on Windemere Rd.
The accident happened at around 3am on the corner of Windemere and Seaview Rds, not far from the Amandine Lavender farm.
When ambulance crews arrived the driver, which police say was a 57-year-old man from Innes Park, was in a confused state.
He was taken to Bundaberg Hospital with suspected concussion and spinal injuries, a Bundaberg Ambulance spokesman said.
The area's power supply is believed to have been affected by the crash which left power lines across the road.
Firefighters attended to make the area safe, with a spokesman saying the vehicle "just about knocked (the) power pole in half".
Some debris remained at the accident site this morning and areas were marked with police tape and spraypaint as police continue to investigate the incident.
