Man hits cop car and runs

A 20-YEAR-OLD man ran in front of an unmarked police car, hit the boot of the car and then ran when police officers chased him, a court was told on Monday.

Justin Phillip Baxter, of Walkervale, applied for bail in the Bundaberg Magistrates Court where he faced a public nuisance charge and two other charges of obstructing police.

Bundaberg Police Sergeant Barry Stevens said Baxter ran in front of the car and when it stopped, walked around to the back and hit the car.

Sgt Stevens said he then ran from a uniformed police officer.

Magistrate Jennifer Batts granted Baxter bail but warned him against reoffending.
